The major work in this release is to cater for ATO compliance with STP Phase II
Changes to the employee details provided to the ATO for each employee, the 2021.3 upgrade process will auto populate/move some of information. MYOB Greentree will provide a screen to view all employees which will allow us to quickly identify any employee record which did not convert and correct the data.
Employee STP categorizations: Under STP II the employee gross earnings will be further categorized to show values against each of these categories below:
Gross
Paid Leave (more on this below)
Allowances (more on this below)
Overtime
Bonuses & commissions
Directors Fees
Lump Sum W (return to work payment)
Salary Sacrifice
Paid Leave will now be further dissected into the following categories:
Other Paid Leave (type O) – includes Annual Leave, Leave loading, LSL, Personal/Carers leave, RDO, TOIL, Study Leave etc
Paid Parental Leave (type P) – Includes Govt & Employer Paid Parental Leave
Workers’ Compensation (type W) – Payments for any workers compensation type payments
Ancillary & defence leave (type A) – Community service leave, Jury Duty, Defence Reserves Leave,
Cash out of leave in service (type C) – cashing out annual leave or leave loading, personal leave or RDO’s
Unused leave on termination – (type U) – Leave paid out on termination
Employee Allowances is where the ATO will now want a lot more information from you about the payment. The allocation categories will only become available in Greentree at 2021.3, however the ATO have now told all software providers that the information to be reported is retrospective back to 01/07/2021.
